My New Obsession- What is #BuJo?

BuJo, AKA Bullet Journaling, is a new craze catching the hearts of note takers, list makers, and over organizers everywhere! I fall into all of those categories, so when I came across this fun new way of doing things...I decided to give it a try. I watched the original Bullet Journal video HERE and took to my Pinterest and Instagram pages for good ideas.

The Concept

The Bullet Journal is the ultimate planner and diary- completely flexible and designed by you!

Planner: This whole "life" thing can be overwhelming. Work projects, kids (and/or spouses) schedules, grocery lists, volunteering, sports games, appointments, seeing friends, planning vacations, birthdays... you get the idea. The thought of forgetting something used to worry me to the point of distraction! The Bullet Journal helps me stay focused on the task at hand while not neglecting my future plans and goals.

Diary: The struggle is real when it comes to my memory, and I just couldn't find the time to document things diary-style. Bullet Journaling doesn't require extra time, though. It allows me to keep track of all the big and little things going on as they happen. Then, I can go back and find the important stuff with an index!

If you didn't already, I highly suggest watching the creator's video HERE before continuing.

What You Need

1. Notebook - Pick a size that you think is reasonable to take most everywhere. It can be a diary or journal, have lines, dots, or be blank. This is where the customization comes in. I really liked a journal I found at Office Depot with bible verses on each page. I've read great reviews on the original book designed for this purpose- here.

2. Pen (or pens) - I decided to invest in a new set of Foray StyleMark Fine 0.5 mm pens. You can really use anything, but if you're concerned about smudging or want some color, I suggest designating a page in the back of your book for testing pens...like this!

3. Ruler - This is optional, but it makes organizing a lot faster in my opinion. Plus, straight lines just look better...

*REMINDER* It doesn't have to be fancy. I really enjoy lettering and doodling, but this is a super useful tool whether you do all of that or not. Enjoy!!
